Sex Toy Cleaning Guide

Sharing your sex toys or not, we can never emphasise enough just how import it is to keep your sex toys clean and in top shape. Please read below for our tips on sex toy cleaning.

You wouldn't share your knife and fork without cleaning them, so you should never share your sex toys without firstly keeping them hygienically clean and sanitized. Clean your sex toys straight after use. By keeping all your sex toys clean will help to prevent the spread of disease (such as all STDs and deadly viruses such as HIV) and this will generally make your sex play so much more enjoyable. If you are still worried about keeping a sex toy clean you can cover it with a condom, and throw away the condom after each use of the sex toy.

The type of material your sex toy is made of will determine the best way for you to clean it. Some sex toys may be cleaned with just a mild soap and warm water, but the more porous the material is, the more likely you are to need one of our more popular and respected Sex Toy Cleaners. Always remove the batteries from your sex toys before cleaning them, to avoid them shorting out if water comes into contact with them.

Silicone, Glass, And Metal Sex Toys

For Silicone, Glass and Metal Sex Toys, use one of our Sex Toy Cleaners. If you don’t have one of those the following cleaning methods can be used (at your own risk). Silicone is a very sturdy material that takes well to soap and water cleaning. You can also throw silicone sex toys in the dishwasher, although not a good idea when the family is over for a fancy dinner. Glass sex toys are often made of Pyrex, this material can take high temperatures. Metal is also very durable, and it can also take high temperatures. A run through a dishwasher will clean your sex toys as well as disinfecting them.

Jelly Sex Toys

You should never use alcohol on a jelly sex toy as that will break down the jelly. You should also clean jelly sex toys with one of our range of Sex Toy Cleaners. However, if you choose to use soap and water, pick a mild soap and use warm water. You should never use hot water or harsh detergents on jelly sex toys, or you will destroy your sex toys. Once the sex toy is squeaky clean and dry, you could/should still spray on a little Sex Toy Cleaner to disinfect the toy.

Rubber And Plastic Sex Toys

Rubber is a very porous material, so you should choose to use a sex toy cleaner on it. Spray it on the sex toy, then rinse and dry off. Your sex toys will then be clean and disinfected. You can use alcohol or a sex toy cleaner on plastic toys – just make sure the alcohol is wiped off and dry before attempting to use the sex toy again, otherwise the alcohol will burn you and dry out your skin. Use alcohol at your own risk (as you know, alcohol is better to drink!)  – Our range of sex toy cleaners is a safer option. Our sex toy cleaners are so safe; they could be used in a food environment.

Leather Bondage Gear

With Leather Bondage Gear, wipe down leather with a warm cloth and some mild soap. You can season the leather with mink oil so that it doesn't crack or grow dry as it ages. When you choose to take good care of your leather, it will always take good care of you!
